Luther Bryan Carter is a Senior Advisor and Chair of Public Sector Programs at the Emerging Markets Investors Alliance (EMIA).
Luther joins EMIA on a volunteer basis from HSBC Global Asset Management where he serves as Head of Global Emerging Markets Debt. Luther has 20 years of investment experience. He previously executed roles similar to his role at HSBC at BNP Paribas Asset Management and Acadian Asset Management. Luther began his career as an Economist, at both T. Rowe Price Associates and the US Treasury Department, where he oversaw IMF loan programs and the G-7 debt relief / HIPC Initiative. Luther earned a B.A. in Economics and Spanish from Georgetown University as well as an M.A. in International Development from Harvard University. Luther holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
