Gabriel Torres is the Director of the Debt & Fiscal Governance Program in the Public Sector Group at the Emerging Markets Investors Alliance.
He has extensive experience as a country risk and sovereign credit analyst, having worked at all three major rating agencies during his career. He has covered developed and emerging market sovereigns in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Gabriel was also a leader of the team that rolled out Moody's Sovereign ESG product.
Gabriel has published articles on country risk and economics in specialized journals and magazines, as well as in local newspapers in emerging markets. He is an instructor of corporate finance and valuation courses for banks and other institutions. He has taught as a guest lecturer at Columbia University, New York University, and Seton Hall.
Gabriel has a political science degree from the Catholic University of Argentina and an MA in International Economics from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
