Extractive activities may not be the largest driver of deforestation globally, yet their impact is material. In some locations, it can be very significant. For investors and other stakeholders looking at a mining company, it is important to understand the level of pertinent deforestation risk.

A group of experts led by the Rainforest Foundation Norway has developed new tools to assess the deforestation risk for a particular asset or company.
