The inaugural Governance and Sustainability Forum organized by the Emerging Markets Investors Alliance will be held in Washington, DC, on Friday, October 25, during the week of the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings. Please Register here.
The Forum, hosted by T. Rowe Price, will focus on sustainability and governance issues in emerging markets and convene senior finance ministry officials to present their plans and accomplishments.
The topics covered include:
- Sustainable financing strategy, including plans for labeled bond issuance
- Fossil fuel subsidies
- Fiscal governance, including climate budgeting, gender budgeting, beneficial ownership, budget transparency (Open Budget Index), transparency of natural resource revenues and contracts (Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative), and transparency in public procurement (Open Contracting Data Standard)
- Strengthening and achieving Paris Accord commitments
Social issues, including women’s workforce participation, keeping girls in school, pandemic preparedness, Indigenous rights and community consent in the oil and mining sectors
