EMIA held the third webinar in the Carbon Transition Initiative, providing a progress update on the climate transition in emerging markets in the run-up to COP26. Recent weeks brought a range of high profile new transition announcements around the world, culminating with the new Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for the United States.
In this webinar, Taryn Fransen of the World Resources Institute, Niklas Höhne of the NewClimate Institute and Nick Robins of the Grantham Research Institute at LSE reviewed trends in commitments from the emerging world, shared examples of challenges faced in implementing climate action on the ground and discussed issues in achieving a Just Transition in emerging markets.
The discussion was moderated by Andrew Howell of the Environmental Defense Fund.
This was the third webinar in our Carbon Transition Initiative, a series of webinars on how climate change and the carbon transition affect emerging markets sovereigns and corporates. This event was exclusive to emerging markets investment professionals.
